Geoff Allum

Started Competitive cycling in 1957 and still going strong. Current personal bests are 23:04 for a 10 in 1957. 58:51 for a 25 in 1993. 2:04:53 for a 50 in 1957 and  4:44:55 for a 100 in 1984. Rode one of the toughest events in the country.  "The North Road Hardriders 25" in 2007 50 years after first attempting it.

Glyn Allum

Joined the club and rode his first 10-mile TT on 4th April 1980, recording a time of 27:05.

Career Achievements include winning the Club 10 ‘Handicap’ – Esso Trophy, Three times & ‘Dipping under the Hour’ on a 25 mile TT Personal Best.


Steve Bristow

Joined KLCC late 2007 after two years away from competetive cycling due to family circumstances.

P.B.s were attained whilst riding for my previous club, Heanor Clarion CC.

Colin Bunnett 

Joined KLCC in 2001. One of Colins personal best times was set in a National Championship held for current and past members of the Police and Emergency Services. It was a 10 mile TT held on the

course P613 he managed to pass the timekeeper in 21:45 his ave speed being 28.2 MPH.

In 2006 Colin was awarded V.T.T.A. E.Anglia B.A.R. Champion.

Since 2003 Colin has been the sole winner of the Tom Carman Trophy which is awarded to the fastest Veteran rider (over 40 years old) in 3 distances - 10, 25 and 50 miles.
 

Owen Crisp

Joined the club in April 1950 and has been the Chairman for the past 2 years.

Although no longer competitively competing, Owen still plays a major role at club events, as one of the Official Timekeepers.


Catherine Essex

Joined the club in 1994 and has been a regular Ladies Champion since.In 2009 She was awarded the following - Micheal Brown Trophy - Awarded for fastest average speed over 25,50 & 100 miles 
                  Fermoy Cup - Awarded for fastest 100 mile TT 
                  Bert Sizen Trophy - Most Meritorious Ride of the year
                  And was the Best Lady in the East District.

On the 12th August 2009 Catherine beat the B10/37r course record with a 23:54, an improvement of 23 seconds.

Alan Guy

Has been an active member of the King’s Lynn cycling club since 1978.

Simon Hardy

Joined the club and rode his first 10 mile TT on Wednesday 18th April 2007 and recorded a time of 27:52.

Andrew Moore

Joined the club in 1982, and raced from 1983 to 1985.

Lee Nowak

Joined KLCC at the start of the 2009 season and entered his first ever 10m TT on 1st April setting a time of 29.11 has managed to lower his times down to respectable levels shown below. His best time for Grimston circuit is  32:06 set on 3rd June 2009

Ken Roesner

Started to race in 1973 when 13 years old.First went under the hour in 1977 with 59.42.Have been club champion over 25,50,100,12hr for Spalding Cycling Club(1978),Peterborough Cycling Club(1989)(the oldest club in the world!!) and Kings lynn on two occasions(2003,2005).
East District Champion 2007,2008. Also have achieved 6 British Best All Rounder certificates.
Have had success riding grass track,road racing and cyclo cross. Have attained Manchester Velodrome track accreditation

Gary Rushmore
Gary is one of the most recent successful cyclist in the club. Palmares shown below.

1987 Won the Junior 10 mile TT Trophy

1988 Won the Esso Cup

1989 Achieved status as Club Champion which is backed up by being awarded the 12 Hour Challange Trophy (also nominated for Bert Sizen Cup) covering 226.672 miles. Same season he won the Fermoy cup for fastest 50 mile TT. Attained fastest Ave speed over 25, 50 and 100 miles in competition.

He has amassed a total of 7 times "10 Mile Club TT Champion" this is awarded to the rider who achieves the greatest number of points in the season long evening series.

Most Memorable achievement is Fist Open win which was done in a 25 mile TT. Spalding CC on 03/07/94 the Winning time was 59:07


Gary Smith 

Joined KLCC in 2003 after leaving the RAF. Gary is currently studying for ABCC which is a nationally recognised coaching qualification.

In 2009 he participated in many cycling exploits, in his TT form he managed personal bests at 50 and 100 miles which was his main goals for the season. MTB events to note were 24/12 and Kielder 100. He has done 2 sportives - "Cycling plus" and "Cumbrian Killer" and achieved a 100 mile TT as below.  Other events were Grass Track racing at Mildenhall in which he finished 3rd in a Kieran race.

His best season was perhaps 2008 when he managed to win the KLCC Hill climb by a margin of 0.2secs. Maintaining the win from 2007 probably something to do with riding Phil and friends in the peaks. 95 miles and over 3500m of climbing. He was awarded with the most improved rider in the SPOCO East competition. Rode first time in a tandem event with Pete Whelan in a 10m TT and managed to achieve 21:19


Brian Williamson

Joined the club in 1959, and has been the Honorary Secretary since 1970.

Brian stopped racing competitively in 2006, but remains a prominent figure in KLCC operations.
He can be found marshalling club events at the Foldgate/Stradsett turn on the B10/37r. Or In his (secret Squirrel) shed helping numerous members with absolutely anything.



Kevin Younge

Has been a club member ‘longer than he can remember’.
